About Sonder
Sonder is a boutique apartment-hotel hospitality company that manages short-term rentals that offer a wide variety of accommodation. Guests can enjoy the comforts and amenities of a hotel while renting their very own vacation rental space. Sonder owns and manages its own rental properties, which are licensed as hotels. While there is a concierge and support staff on site at Sonder hotels, Sonders don’t offer in-room dining or regular cleaning (though cleaning can be requested and you can access extra supplies in a shared cupboard in the lobby) etc. In exchange, for this small inconvenience, Sonder offers full apartment style rooms at very good rates.
Sonder Arlo
Located in the heart of Ottawa just steps away from Parliament Hill is the Sonder Arlo. Each space includes a fully equipped kitchen, Roku for streaming, and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Take advantage of the fitness center for a morning workout. If you arrive before the check-in times, you are able to store your luggage on-site.
The luggage lockers for The Arlo are in the basement of the property and are accessible 24/7! The luggage lockers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note Sonder is not liable for lost or stolen goods. To use the locker, store your items in the locker and turn the handle into the lock position. Now enter a 4 digit code you would like to use. Re-enter the same code to confirm. The locker should now be locked and the handle will be stuck in the locked position. To unlock, use the same code then turn the handle. If you need to store luggage after you check out, your room access code will still be active for the front doors until 4pm that day.
Sonder Rideau
Located in the heart of Ottawa near Parliament Hill and the Byward Market, each apartment in the Sonder Rideau includes a fully equipped kitchen or kitchenette, Roku for streaming, and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Please click the link to view the room types available.

If you arrive before check-in time, there are luggage lockers on site for your use.
The luggage lockers for The Rideau are located in the lobby in the vestibule near the elevators and they are accessible 24/7! The luggage lockers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The storage location includes small lockers for securely storing your valuables. Please note Sonder is not liable for lost or stolen goods. To use the Luggage lockers you will need to turn the latch into the locked position. Then create a 4 digit code(ex: 1234) and enter the same code again to confirm that code(e: 1234). When you return you will use the same code which will reset it for the next guest. If you need to store luggage after you check out, your room access code will still be active for the front doors until 4pm that day.
How to book:
- Click to download the Sonder app to your mobile device. All individuals must create a Sonderaccount and enter valid credit card information for incidental charges.
- To make your reservation, email Nathan Hernandez at: [email protected]
- Indicate which Sonder property you wish to stay at (Arlo or Rideau)
- Include the guest name, arrival / departure date, email and phone number.
- Quote group “Algonquin Nation Secretariat – National Claims Research Workshop” in the subject line and body of the email.
The Sonder has a front desk and an on-site team that is available during business hours to ensure you have a better stay. However, you will use the Sonder app to navigate your stay from start to finish, including:
- Checking in
- Requesting amenities or support
- Connecting to WiFi
Reservation requests must be received on or before the cut-off date of October 10, 2024, to ensure Sonder is prepared for the group’s arrival. Individual reservations will be confirmed and emails sent to each guest with instructions to complete their booking. Hotel check-in time is 4:00pm on the day of arrival and check out time is 11:00am the day of departure.
